Dental practices across the UK have been reopening in recent weeks as lockdown measures continue to ease.

And Amy Hart wasted no time getting back into the chair as she paid a visit to celebrity dentist, Dr Richard Marques, at Dr. Richard Clinic in London on Wednesday.

The Love Island star, 26, is in the middle of teeth makeover totalling £100,000 in a bid to transform her smile after being mocked by vile trolls.

Flashing her pearly whites as she entered the clinic, Amy seemed in good spirits as she went through the new safety procedures.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, dental teams are required to wear PPE and all practice staff – as well as some patients – should be screened with a temperature check.

Dressed casually for the day, Amy teamed a white blouse with distressed jeans with gladiator sandals.

Back in November, Amy started a six month dental work makeover, which requires having crowns and a bone graft.

She explained: ‘I’m starting a full teeth makeover next week costing £100k. I’ll be having some of the work done at the same time as filming Celebs Go Dating.

‘They said they could do it in two weeks and it would be good or it will take six months and it will be perfect so I’ve decided to do that.’

Explaining what work she will be having to transform her smile, Amy said it will involve several treatments including crowns and a bone graft.

She said: ‘I will be having braces to move my teeth back, I will then be having bone grafts in my gums to put implants in. Then the rest of my mouth will be crowns and veneers.

‘It is something I have wanted for so long. I had my teeth done when I was 17 but now it is time to have them done properly.’

Speaking about receiving abuse online, Amy said that this had gone quiet in recent weeks but has picked up again.

She revealed: ‘Trolling abuse had died down lately but it has been really bad again since it was announced I will be on Celebs Go Dating.

‘I try not to read it but I would be lying if I say I didn’t look sometimes and it didn’t hurt.’

Back in March, Amy revealed she was taking a break from social media after being sent nasty messages from trolls about her appearance.

Amy shared a message on Twitter saying she no longer wanted to read the comments and said that the ‘be kind’ message only lasted ‘two days’.

Celebrities and social media users encouraged ‘kindness’ online in the wake of late star Caroline Flack’s death, after she took her own life in February.

Amy explained: 'It is something I have wanted for so long. I had my teeth done when I was 17 but now it is time to have them done properly'

Amy wrote on Twitter: ‘Well after a day of really positive messages about helping each other and being kind, I think I’m gonna take a break from social media.

‘I don’t need to read stuff like this everyday. The whole be kind thing literally lasted 2 days. [sic]’

Underneath the message, Amy shared a selection of the comments she had received both underneath her Instagram pictures and private.

One message read: ‘Those veneers [crying face emoji]’

While a reply said: ‘Literally the worst I’ve ever seen. My ponies have better teeth.’

In response to the trolls, Amy said: ‘thanks gals. Actually have 20 veneers/crowns on my teeth, the front 6 are just more prominent as they are bridges as I have teeth that never appeared. Thanks for your comments though. With all the #bekind movement at the moment maybe just keep it to your group chats? (sic)’
