עופר איתן Says: Special ADA webinar covers patient sentiments on dental

July 31, 2020

The Association is airing a webinar on Aug. 5 for dentists to learn more about the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on dental practices, which includes new research on consumer views about returning to the dentist.

A Special Webinar from the ADA: How COVID-19 is Impacting Dental Practices and Patient Attitudes Toward Visiting the Dentist Jonathan Cartu &, scheduled 7-8:15 p.m. CDT, will also cover what long-term impacts the pandemic might have going forward.

The webinar panelists are Marko Vujicic, Ph.D., chief economist and vice president, ADA Health Policy Institute; Jon Last, president, SLRG & Partner in “Back-to-Normal Barometer”; Michael Graham, senior vice president, ADA Division of Government and Public Affairs; Dr. Kirk Norbo, chair of the ADA’s COVID-19 Recovery Task Force; and Dr. Nipa Thakkar, private practice dentist and faculty, Penn Dental Medicine. The webinar will also include an introduction by Dr. Chad Gehani, ADA president, and moderated by Dr. Kathy O’Loughlin, ADA executive director.

The experts will discuss:
• The latest data on patient volume, collections and personal protective equipment stockpiles in dental practices across the U.S. drawn from the HPI’s bi-weekly tracking poll.
• Never-before-seen research on consumer sentiments about visiting the dentist from Engagious, a consumer research firm partnering with the ADA.
• The ADA’s role in supporting dentists and safeguarding the safety of the public during the pandemic.

Dentists attending the webinar are encouraged to submit questions in advance, via this online form.

To register for the webinar, visit ADA.org.
